Your building journey made simple and seamless

Your project follows a clear six‑stage pathway - starting with HelpMeBuild to confirm feasibility, build method, and budget alignment, then moving through TaylorMade’s detailed design, consents, construction, and final completion. Each stage builds on the last so you always know where you are, what’s next, and what to expect.

01

Stage 1: Project Discovery & Feasibility with HelpMeBuild.nz

Your journey begins with HelpMeBuild, where we define your goals, understand your site, assess suitable build methods, and confirm feasibility. This gives you clarity on the smartest way forward before entering the TaylorMade process.

What’s included

  • Your goals, site, budget, and timeline

  • Assessment of suitable build methods

  • Early feasibility check

  • Clear direction on next steps

Cost: Free

Outcome: Confidence that your project is realistic, aligned with the right build method, and fits your budget before committing to the next stage.

02

Stage 2: TaylorMade Project Proposal (TPP)

Once your project direction is clear, the TPP defines your project in detail - with a site‑specific cost breakdown and a clear understanding of how your budget aligns with the full scope of work.

What’s included

  • Full cost breakdown for the entire project

  • Tailored to your site, chosen plan, and build method

  • Suitable for finance and funding applications

  • Clarity before any documentation or consent work begins

Cost: $800 - $1,800

Outcome: A dependable cost direction that reflects your site, your build method, and your budget - giving you confidence to proceed into the technical stages.

03

Stage 3: Pre‑Construction Documentation

With your direction, build method, and budget alignment confirmed, we prepare the technical documentation required to make your project shovel‑ready. This includes all engineering, servicing, and drawings needed for consent and construction.

What’s included

  • Site plan, concept drawings, and technical refinement

  • Geotech investigation and engineering

  • Wastewater and stormwater servicing reports

  • Survey datum peg and on‑site measurements

  • Documentation prepared to Building Consent level

Cost: Defined during Discovery (typically 4%–12% of project value)

Example: $580,000 build → $51,300 Documentation Package

Outcome: A complete, technically sound documentation package - including engineering and servicing - that forms the foundation for consents, product selections, and final pricing.

04

Stage 4: Consents, Product Confirmation & Final Pricing

With all technical documentation complete, your project becomes fully confirmed and ready for construction. This is where consents are lodged, specifications are finalised, and pricing is validated.

What’s included

  • Building Consent application lodged and managed

  • Product selections, upgrades, and specifications confirmed

  • Colours, finishes, and fixtures finalised

  • Final pricing validated against your selections

  • Supplier scheduling and lead times aligned

  • All clarifications resolved before construction

Contract is signed at this stage

Cost: Included within the Documentation Package

Outcome: A fully consented, cost‑locked, specification‑confirmed project - ready to move into construction with complete clarity.

05

Stage 5: Construction & On‑Site Works

With consents approved and pricing locked, construction begins. This is where planning and technical work translate into real progress on site.

What’s included

  • Site establishment and preparation

  • Structural works, framing, and core build stages

  • Services installation and engineering coordination

  • Regular progress updates and milestone walkthroughs

  • Quality assurance checks throughout the build

Cost: 20% deposit at contract signing, then progress payments through the build

Outcome: Your home takes shape exactly as planned, with clear communication and quality control at every stage.

06

Stage 6: Completion, Sign‑Off & Move‑In

With construction finished and quality checks completed, your project moves into the final stage - Completion. This is where every detail is verified, compliance is confirmed, and your home is formally signed off.

What’s included

  • Final inspections and compliance checks

  • Passed final inspection and CCC application lodged

  • Any final adjustments or touch‑ups completed

  • Completion documentation provided

  • Final 5% payment due at this stage

  • Keys handed over once sign‑off is complete

Outcome: A fully completed, compliant home - delivered on time and on budget, ready for you to move in with confidence.
